Get Into the Seasonal Spirit at Peoples Gas Holiday Market
Every year, the Peoples Gas Holiday Market brings festive seasonal cheer to our community of apartments in downtown Pittsburgh, PA in the form of a European-style winter village. From now through December 23rd, head to Market Square in downtown Pittsburgh to experience the winter wonderland come to life. Peruse through Alpine-style wooden chalets to find local vendors and unique holiday gifts, try your hand at seasonal karaoke, and check out exciting performances and light shows in the evening.
This year, over 25 vendors from near and far will be offering everything from custom-made jewelry to artisanal treats. Browse handmade wool jackets, gloves, hats, and scarves from Himala Home, Pittsburgh-themed coasters, dishes, trays, and magnets from Linda Barnicott Art and Gifts, and holiday-inspired wines spiced with traditional Gluhwein from R Wine Cellar. You can even pre-order a holiday dessert platter from Fabulous Homemade Cookies to bring to your family’s seasonal gathering this year.
Every Monday and Tuesday evening through December 17th, you can try your hand at the annual Holiday Karaoke Contest, where you’ll compete with fellow Pittsburgh residents to move on to the grand finale competition on December 23rd. The winner of the competition takes home a $1,000 grand prize, but you also have the chance to win exciting nightly prizes, and each competitor receives a gift for their bravery. Walk-ups are welcome as long as space allows, and you can learn more about preregistering here.
If you’re more interested in being a member of the audience, the Market hosts daily performances on the main stage. Come down and check out dance groups, school choirs, acoustic artists, and local musicians.
The Peoples Gas Holiday Market is open daily starting at 11 a.m. For a full list of vendors, events, daily hours of operation, and more, head to their website. We hope to see you out there this season!
