Taste Fall at The Best Cider Spots in Pittsburgh

As we welcome in the fall season at our community of Strip District apartments, we find ourselves craving pumpkin pie, cinnamon-spiced teas, and of course, the crisp refreshing taste of cider. Here in Pittsburgh, we’re fortunate to have plenty of options to choose from when we feel the need to imbibe with a seasonal cocktail. We’re reviewing our favorite places in town to sip cider as we bask in the beautiful change of seasons.

Arsenal first opened its doors in 2010, making it the premier cidery in Western Pennsylvania. Since then, they’ve been serving delicious small-batch hard apple cider, wine, and mead. Their impressive selection of beverages includes Picket Bone Dry, Smiling Sam’s Blueberry, and Murray’s Mead, to name a few. Their Lawrenceville location also offers artisanal cheese plates in the tasting room, and a comprehensive selection of bar snacks, salads, and sandwiches in the cider garden.

At Threadbare, you can choose from an eclectic selection of hand-crafted, hopped, wild fermented, and barrel aged ciders. Their menu includes everything from classic farmhouse cider, to cider-infused cocktails like their Spring Garden Sazerac. Sit outside in the garden, enjoy the vibrant feel of the tasting room, or go behind-the-scenes with a tour to learn all about the cider-making process. Head to their website to learn more.

Grist House is a great option if you’re going with a crew and are looking for a bit of variety in the beverage department. Their enormous menu features just about every type of drink you might be in the mood for, and their knowledgeable staff is always happy to chat with you about your selection. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the vibe is classic and cozy. There are also plenty of delicious food options on their menu, which makes it a great spot for laid-back dinner with friends. Their website provides menu, hours, and location for all of your planning needs.
