Dine Al Fresco on These Outdoor Patios in Pittsburgh

Now that it’s officially May, we think it’s safe to say that spring has arrived. Everyone has their favorite outdoor activities, but I think we can all agree that there’s something uniquely exciting about being able to dine outdoors after a long winter cooped up inside.

Located right across from The Cork Factory, are our previously featured Strip District neighbors Cioppino and Osteria 2350. As our go-to establishments for delicious fare and gorgeous al fresco seating, they top our list.

Along with these establishments, Pittsburgh offers a variety of amazing eateries that can be enjoyed outside. Here are a few we're particularly excited about.

In case you don’t already know, Poulet Bleu is an exquisite American bistro with French cuisine influence in the Lower Lawrenceville area. Their thoughtfully designed outdoor patio will transport you to a European vacation, and their impressive wine and libations selection offers the perfect pairing on a warm evening. Whether you’re looking to push the envelope with an order of their burgundy escargot, or simply enjoy a classic like their beef bourguignon, you’re going to love dining out at Poulet Bleu. Check out their website for hours, menus, and reservations.

If you work in the area, you may already know of Oxford Market as one of the best places to grab lunch in the neighborhood. Its expansive menu and plaza-like atmosphere provides us with so many delicious choices. What you may not know is that Bar Oxford offers outdoor seating with walk-up service, where you can indulge in signature bar menu items like gourmet pretzel bites, pulled pork poutine, and brick oven pizza while you sip delicious cocktails and enjoy the fresh breeze. Head over for happy hour every day from 4-6 p.m.

Last but certainly not least on our Pittsburgh patio tour is Piazza Talarico, a beloved family-owned Italian restaurant specializing in personal pizzas, authentic pasta dishes, and everyone’s favorite after-dinner treats including zeppola and cannoli. Pair your meal with a selection from Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar, sourced from a local winery in Western Pennsylvania for the authentic Italian experience. Enjoy a fine beverage, a hot slice of pizza, and the warm spring sun on the patio at Piazza Talarico. Maybe we’ll see you there!
