If you’ve missed it in years past, you’ll want to make sure you get down to this year’s annual Picklesburgh festival on the Roberto Clemente Bridge from July 20-22, opening at noon each day. In an ode to the rising popularity of pickled foods (we’ve all seen those pickle-back happy hour specials by now) the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership along with many local sponsors brings you a festival of culinary celebration, exciting musical acts, contests, games, demonstrations, and community.
The festival takes place on the Roberto Clemente Bridge and showcases over 40 vendors bringing you everything from classic pickles, to artisan chocolate, to pickle-inspired merchandise for sale. Picklesburgh promises fun for all ages with fun crafts and funky artisanal cocktails for those of age. You may even walk away with some cash if you become the lucky and talented winner of this year’s pickle juice drinking contest.
Each day of the festival also features an exciting lineup of local bands and musical acts brought to you from the BNY Mellon Stage and framed by a beautiful backdrop of Pittsburgh’s riverfront. These diverse performances cover every genre, so there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.
Sound too good to be true? It’s also free. While food, drinks, and merchandise are available for sale, entry to the festival and musical performances are totally free of charge. If you’re planning on heading to the festival, there are many parking garages nearby, but it may be helpful to consult ParkPGH before you go to check availability. The festival is also accessible via public transit
With local and international cuisine from some of the most inspired artisans around, unique drinks, and jammin’ bands, you can’t really ask for much more from a festival. Head down to the riverfront July 20-22 and check out all that Picklesburgh has to offer. For FAQ’s, schedules, and more information about the festival, visit their website
