Step Inside a Local Art Gallery

Art galleries are known for their unique works created around the world.

If you are looking for decorative pieces for your home, nearby galleries include:

Contemporary Craft

Elizabeth Rockwell Raphael established Contemporary Craft as she wanted to offer a place where craft artists could exhibit and sell their creations. The artists work in embroidery, woodworking, pottery, and more. Visitors can also enjoy time in the drop-in studio, a hands-on activity space for all ages. It's where the staff encourages everyone to bring out their inner artist to create a craft that relates to the gallery's special exhibits.

Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery

The Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery is the only gallery in Pittsburgh that is exclusively dedicated to works made of glass. It's found in the Shadyside neighborhood and welcomes both emerging and established artists from across the globe. The staff is friendly, and pieces include vases, lanterns, and boat-shaped bowls.

BoxHeart Gallery

BoxHeart is known as the best contemporary gallery in the city. It was founded by Nicole Capozzi and Joshua Hogan, and together, they have curated, coordinated, and hosted more than three hundred exhibitions. They took inspiration from a letter written by Ansel Adams, and based the gallery on the concept that "art is both love and understanding." The works are made by emerging and mid-career artists and include mixed media paintings, sculptures, and vases.

Concept Art Gallery

The Concept Art Gallery represents and exhibits several of the region's established artists, as well as those who have national and international acclaim. It opened in 1979 as is conveniently located near the Carnegie Museum of Art. The selection includes something for everyone with pieces such as abstract paintings, photographs, and sculptures.
